배스킨라빈스 성상품화 논란 아동 모델 엘라 그로스 엄마의 심경글 전문

I wanted to take a moment to address the reaction that Ella received to a recent project that she worked on with Baskin Robbins Korea. I’m saddened to see how certain segments of the Korean public reacted to this commercial. What was honestly meant to be a fun commercial for a new ice cream flavor is being perceived by them as something disgusting and horrific.
As most women, I have many roles in my life. However, I am first and foremost a mother, a title in which I take great pride and value above anything else. Ella is my daughter who I would gladly give my life for. It pains me that people have lashed out in such a careless and combative way.
Ella continues to grow up with strong faith in God and I pray she will be a role model for other girls. What matters most is how you are on the inside. Ella is a beautiful soul because she truly does not have any bad intentions. She is one of the most hard working, strongest, sweetest, down to earth girls you will ever meet. She is intelligent, she is humble, and she really is a great girl.
To those that are rallying against the Baskin Robbins commercial, stop saying that you are doing this “for Ella.” She is surrounded and loved by many strong and powerful women who wholeheartedly have her best interests at heart and who are confused and angered by your hurtful and negative reactions to a beautiful child.
To Ella’s fans, her friends and family that pour love onto our sweet girl, I truly want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I have realized how a few words of kindness really mean more than a thousand words of hate. I am so thankful for you all! ~Ella’s Mom

저는 엘라가 최근에 배스킨라빈스 코리아와 함께 작업한 우리의 프로젝트에 대한 반응을 잠시 언급하고 싶었습니다. 이 광고에 대한 일부 한국 대중들의 반응을 접하고 슬펐습니다. 사실 우리는 새로운 아이스크림 맛을 표현한 재미있는 광고를 만들려고 한 것이었지만, 그들에게는 역겹고 끔찍한 것으로 인식되고 있었습니다.

대부분의 여성과 마찬가지로 저도 인생에서 많은 역할이 있습니다. 하지만 저는 그 무엇보다도 우선 엄마라는 것에 큰 자부심과 가치를 느낍니다. 엘라는 제가 기꺼이 목숨까지도 바칠 수 있는 제 딸입니다. 사람들이 그렇게 부주의하고 호전적으로 맹렬히 비난하는 것은 제게 큰 고통입니다. 

엘라는 하나님에 대한 강한 신앙을 갖고 성장하고 있으며, 저는 다른 여자아이들의 롤모델이 되기를 기도하고 있습니다. 가장 중요한 것은 그 아이의 내적인 면입니다. 엘라는 정말로 나쁜 의도를 갖고 있지 않기 때문에 아름다운 영혼입니다. 엘라는 여러분이 앞으로 보게 될, 가장 열심히 일하고, 가장 강하고, 상냥하고, 견실한 아이들 중의 한 명입니다. 엘라는 총명하고, 겸손하며, 정말 훌륭한 아이입니다. 

배스킨라빈스 광고를 반대하는 분들께 말씀드립니다. 여러분의 행동이 '엘라를 위한 것'이라고 말하지 말아주세요. 엘라 주변에는 진심으로 엘라에게 관심을 가져주고 사랑해주는 강하고 힘있는 많은 여성들이 있으며, 이 여성들은 엘라에게 마음의 상처를 주는 여러분들의 부정적인 반응에 혼란스러워 하고, 분노하고 있습니다.
